TAV Gallery is pleased to announce the screening of Yusuke Washimi's latest video work, "Contena," from January 20 (Fri.) to 22 (Sun.), 2023.
Washimi is known for his plastic wearable works, including his recent collaborations with New Balance and the fashion brand Hatra. In addition to being "wearable," Washimi's creations are based on the idea that the body can be transformed into something else by clothes or that it is a medium that can be possessed by something else. In a way, his work goes back and forth between the real and the virtual.
This exhibition features a screening of work born from the collaboration between Washimi, Toppan Virtual Human Lab. (Toppan Printing Co., Ltd.), kengoshimiz (researcher of traditional Japanese music), Seiji Ishigaki (photographer), Masaki Kitahara (videographer), and Takumi Fujita (production). Research findings by Chiaki Yamanoi are also on display. Come and discover the new phase of the body created by Yusuke Washimi.
