Yutaka Hatta
Yutaka Hatta, a painter from Fukui, began a career as an artist in the 1950s and after losing eyesight in the 1980s continued to create art using hearing and touch. This exhibition showcases Hatta's remarkable paintings and sculptures, crafted through a fusion of material, image, and action, transcending the limitations of sight. Delve into carving works from the 1960s to the 1980s, alongside tableau pieces from the 1990s and kozo (paper mulberry) creations from the 2000s, offering a glimpse into a unique world where visual boundaries dissolve, and art finds new dimensions through touch and sound.
