Yuto Katayose
Yuto Katayose uses simple materials like mechanical pencils and regular pencils to create intricate drawings, relying on his sensations at each moment while holding the pen. His precise depictions, often mistaken for digital art at first glance, stir the viewer's senses. "Light Layers" features works drawn on old books and vintage receipts that Katayose collects. Unlike new white paper, these antique papers, with their tears, folds, and faded handwritten text, carry the passage of time. Thin layers blend and overlap, making the boundaries between different times ambiguous.
