åbäke, a London-based graphic design unit and art collective, presented "Fugu Okul" at the 2018 4th Istanbul Design Biennial "A School of Schools,” an exhibition of painted two-dimensional works, sculptures, and video works.

Taking fugu (blowfish) as its starting point, the art project named "Fugu Okul/Fugu School" explored various fields ranging from environmental issues to geopolitics, chemistry, literature, and art. The works presented at the "Fugu School Part 1" at Clear Gallery Tokyo in 2021 were also exhibited at the International Art Festival "Aichi 2022" with new works added.

The gallery presented mainly graffiti works in Japanese, English, and Turkish, that suggested the existence of others in human society (minorities/other species in the local community) through the story of the blowfish. In this exhibition, Part 2, åbäke will present a series of drawings depicting the world through the eyes of a blowfish (non-human), as well as newly created sculptures based on his research for "Aichi 2022."
