Masami Ueda
“To the Sea" is a series by photographer Masami Ueda taken over a period of eight years that represents the artist's life as a journey to the sea. It was selected as a finalist in the 19th Photography "1_WALL" competition, and a photo book was published by Trace last October.

To celebrate the publication of the book, an exhibition will be held simultaneously at the bookstore Hyakunen and the gallery One Day. The exhibition will feature photographs and slideshows that tell an unfolding story through a mixture of powerful visuals and intensely quiet images. The photobook will also be available for viewing. An online talk by art critic Yuri Mitsuda with Ueda will be held on May 7 at 4:00 p.m. Anyone can view the talk via Trace's Instagram account (tracelab_official).
