Mitsui Memorial Museum underwent a complete renovation from September 2021 to April of this year. The renovation work included the renewal of the air conditioning and mechanical systems, the installation of LED lighting in the museum and its display cases, the replacement of security equipment, the replacement of flooring, and the renewal of the entrance, video gallery, and store. To mark the completion of the renovations, the museum is holding a two-part exhibition: “Reopening I: Painted Ceramics – Ninsei, Kenzan, Eiraku, and East Asian Ceramics” and “Re-Opening II: Tea Ceramics – Appreciating Scenic Kiln Effects.”
