Artists

Kiyomi Kato
Kiyomi Kato is an artist that works with fictional scenes, representing a division between the world from which you are looking, and the world beyond the staged foregrounds. There is an abruptly presented hand, the gentle expression of a tenacious woman, a mirror that reflects precisely nothing. Such images are not far from everyday life, appearing to emerge from a hallucinatory world that you might glimpse over your shoulder. Kato’s nuanced work has attracted many fans to date. This exhibition will present 25 artworks from the early years of Kato’s career, ranging from the late 1950s to the early 1970s.
