In 2022, Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art (MIMOCA) launched a new public entry exhibition, “1st. MIMOCA Eye,” inviting artists 35 years old and younger to submit works of contemporary art. The “1st 1st. MIMOCA Eye” received 294 entries in response, and 17 finalists have been selected in a strict judging process by the selection committee. The Museum is pleased to present the “1st. MIMOCA Eye” exhibition featuring the finalists’ works. A grand-prize winner and a second-prize winner will hereafter be chosen from the finalists’ works, with the grand-prize winner receiving prize money. As a supplementary prize, the grand-prize winner will also receive a solo exhibition at MIMOCA and backing for further advancement. Hereafter, the public entry exhibition will be held every three years.
Guided by Genichiro Inokuma’s words, MIMOCA has high expectations that young artists who bear the future will pursue new expression while reflecting deeply on their time and thereby giving wings to their talent. We invite you to experience the fresh sensibilities of finalists’ works in the “1st MIMOCA Eye”.

Adults ¥950; University Students ¥650; High School Students and Under, Seniors 65 & Over residing in Marugame City, Persons with Disability Certificates + 1 Companion free. Free on November 23.
