Yasuo Kazuki Exhibition: <My> Siberia, and <My> Earth

Shizuoka Prefectural Museum of Art
Finished

Artists

Yasuo Kazuki
Oil paint mixed with charcoal and powder is layered upon layer on a dark, dreary background. Yasuo Kazuki is best known for his “Siberia Series”, a group of works based on the artist’s detainment in Siberia. Each of the 57 pieces comprising the series gives voice to the artist’s memories and experiences of Siberia, with a beautiful and poignant artistic flair.
This exhibition will feature 170 of Kazuki's works. Early works from the prewar period, landscapes painted in the same period as the “Siberia Series”, and the “Toy” series which demonstrate Kazuki’s wit and humor will be on display.
