Artists

Tetsuo Matsumoto
Tetsuo Matsumoto was born in Sano City, Tochigi Prefecture, in 1943. Working as a High School Teacher, he won his first prize in the Japan Art Institute's Spring Exhibition in 1969. Advancing his career through the Japan Art Institute Exhibitions, he started work on a series depicting the three great waterfalls of the world in the mid 90’s. “Niagara”, “Victoria Falls”, and “Iguaçu” are epic pieces spanning 12 meters at its widest, revolutionary in their scale and originality.
This exhibition is held in commemoration of the completion of the “Three Great Falls” series. Along with the 10 works on waterfalls, 40 additional landscapes from the “Toledo”, “Grand Canyon”, and an early series depicting Nasu will be on display.
