Perhaps the greatest characteristic of 20th century art was the birth of abstract painting. Painters inspired by music attempted to express themselves without recourse to definite shapes. The resulting paintings, consisting of colors and lines, were said to have allowed people to ‘hear’ the artwork.
This is an exhibition of pictures you can ‘hear’. Playable sculptures will also be on display. Viewer participation is expected to produce a new mode of expression.
