The Kamekura Award was established in 1999 to commemorate the life and work of Yusaku Kamekura who contributed to the development of graphic design.
This 7th Award recognizes Mitsuo Katsui and his posters for "Visionary∞Scape". Fully utilizing the computer medium to create elaborate compositions with an exquisite use of colors and form, all represent the kind of work the designer has done in the past. As a forerunner in this quickly digitalizing society, Katsui started using photo technology early on in his work, now completed with the use of computers.
