"Shock your brain with the unknown". See it! Hear it! Touch it! Digital art satisfies your brain's desire to know. There you'll find art that uses digital technology, including computer graphics, animation, web design, and interactive works. It's art that takes you into a new, unknown world.
This year marks the third Digital Art Festival Tokyo (DAF Tokyo), initiated in 2002 to introduce the world of digital art to a wider audience.
The festival's centerpiece is the NHK television program Digital Stadium ("Digista"), which strives to discover and cultivate emerging talent and introduce their work to the public. The festival includes the Digista Awards Exhibition, presenting works nominated for the annual Digista Awards competition, as well as selected works from within Japan and abroad. With artist talks, screenings, a special market offering goods by artists, DAF Tokyo is one of Japan's top art festivals in terms of number of participating artists and caliber of work presented.
DAF Tokyo pushes aside preconceptions that art should be viewed in museums, creating an event where everyone can join in and experience the works for themselves. No doubt your brain will have a shock like never before. Come enjoy the newest world of art.
