Kiyoshi Seike
One of the leading Japanese architect Kiyoshi Seike (1918-2005) passed away on April 8 at the age of 86. Seike was a knowledgeable and multi-talented person who knew how to appreciate life. This exhibition presents the masterpieces of his work as well as his attractive personality through a broad range of materials. The life-size model of his representative work (1954) eloquently speaks of the architect's belief in "living large and designing with occasions." Also provided are a series of discussions and field trips to learn about Kiyoshi Seike more in depth. The museum hopes to create an opportunity to rethink about our life and architecture through the life and work of Kiyoshi Seike.
