Gaspard, who dons a blue scarf, is an active boy who gets around on his rollerblades. Lisa, with a red scarf, is a cute, precocious girl. Neither a dog nor a rabbit, the stories which the imaginary creatures unravel are full of imagination and curiosities.
With warm illustrations full of vibrant colors and stories with unique twists, the “Gaspard and Lisa” series has been read and loved by readers worldwide. Illustrated by Georg Hallensleben and written by Anne Gutman, the series has a wide following among not only children but also young women as well.
This exhibition features close to 120 original sketches and studies from “Gaspard and Lisa”, and the new “Penelope” series by the husband-and-wife team.
