Isamu Noguchi
2004 was the 100th anniversary of Isamu Noguchi's birth. Born to a Japanese father and an American mother, he grew up to become a world famous artist in the fields of sculpture, garden & space design, and even product designs.
His Japanese-paper-made lamp shades "Akari," come in more than 100 designs and are loved by people all around the world.
This exhibition introduces "Akari" and its background, manufacturing process and abundant design possibilities. Also a charity event exhibiting hommage works by creators from different fields will be held to celebrate the fascination created by the iconic shapes.
