Toshiko Kimura

Toshiko Kimura is a video artist and illustrator. Her video works are at first glance jerky, but they have also been made with techniques that give them a sense of space and atmosphere. The works have a sense of statelessness and absurdity, a grotesque charm for which they have become noticed. The artist has received critical acclaim for her music videos for UK electronica artist CapitolK and others. Many animated videos have a sense of heaviness in their movement, but what most attracts people to Kimura's works is their unique "taste" or "sense of narrative".
For this exhibition, the artist is redrawing and presenting the illustrations and drawings that form the basis of her work.
