Dick Bruna
The beloved rabbit Miffy celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2005. This exhibition commemorates this occasion by displaying 150 pieces of work, including sketches and original drawings from the first ever Miffy book (unpublished in Japan) to new material, as well as various translated versions of the Miffy books from approximately 40 countries. Figures and sets used for Miffy's stop-motion animation series, "Miffy and Friends", will also be shown to the public for the first time.
The exhibition will also screen video footage of Dick Bruna (who is now 80 years old) explaining his own unique style of production. There will also be a replica of his studio in Utrecht, Holland.
