Taneomi Soejima, Sokai
The artist (1828-1905), whose name in the calligraphy world was Sokai, was a politician from Saga Prefecture who was known as one of the Seven Wise Men of Saga. His calligraphy is telling of his upbringing, being uninhibited yet magnificent, and highly dignified. This will be the first exhibition of the artist's work in Tokyo.
