"Tensho-in Atsu-hime" Exhibition

Tensho-in Atsu-hime was a woman who lived in the period that spanned the turbulent closing days of the Tokugawa shogunate. Born to the Shimazu family, she became the wife of the Tokugawa Shogun. In keeping with the screening of the NHK Taiga Drama "Atsu-hime", this exhibition features articles that once belonged to Atsu-hime and were handed down through the Tokugawa shogunate household, arts and crafts articles that were beloved by the ladies of the inner chambers, and various articles related to Atsu-hime that were handed down through the Shimazu family.
