Seven years after Jaume Plensa held an exhibition at Tamada's gallery space, drawing in many visitors and garnering critical acclaim, he is returning to exhibit in this gallery. This time Tamada Projects will show Plensa's recent works. The artist has became one of the most renowned artists in the world since completing his major project, the "Crown Fountain" at the Millennium Park in Chicago, which opened to the public in 2004. Plensa has also been active in the field of stage design, and designed the sets for the opera "Le Chateau de Barbe-Bleue" (Bartok) and "Le Journal d'un Disparu" (Janacek), premiering in summer 2008 in Tokyo and Kobe. The current exhibition also demonstrates his keen sense of space and it is a unique opportunity to view the renewed world of Plensa, in the context of the renovated space in Tsukishima, where historical and contemporary currents cross over.
50% of each entry ticket sold will be shared and donated to humanitarian medical NGO Médecins Du Monde and art-related Non-Profit Gadago, the organization running Tokyo Art Beat.
