10th Chair Exhibition "300 Chairs"

To make a chair designed by oneself - a modern-day indulgence.
This exhibition features chairs designed by 100 creators that transcend era and genre.
At this "Chair Cram School", the making of chairs is tackled from various angles, studying chair design that is good for one's health based on ergonomic engineering, making 1/5 models based on hand-drawn scale drawings, after which one will actually produce the chair thus designed.
At the venue, around 300 chairs will be presented along with the cram school students' works and miniature chairs. Visitors are allowed to sit on nearly all the chairs. Also on display will be exhibits featuring materials out of which chairs are made, ergonomic experiments on chair-sitting and chairs for children. Seminars by chair designers and talks on healthy exercise activities using chairs will also be conducted.
* This exhibition commemorates the 10th anniversary of the "Chair Cram School", showcasing mainly works of furniture produced by students of the school over the past ten years.
