Yuki Hayashi "End of the World"

IID Gallery

Artists

Yuki Hayashi
Yuki Hayashi's work possesses a quietness all its own. Its simplified graphical landscapes have something apocalyptic to them, but are at the same time charged with possibilities for multiple rebirth and renewal. His works reflect the strong influence of the Nintendo Famicom game graphics of his childhood, and render ambiguous the boundary between reality and its adjoining fictional world. By retrieving slight emotions and sensations that only faintly register in everyday life, Hayashi reawakens in us a certain sort of forgotten feeling.
