"Napoleon Exhibition"

Museum of Modern Art, Ibaraki
Finished
Napoleon Bonaparte, known as a political and military genius, emerged as a leader during the French Revolution, bringing dramatic development in France. He also had a keen interest in art and the academic field.
When Napoleon went on the Egyptian expedition, he also brought his scholastic research group, consisting of various specialists and artists, establishing a foundation for today's Egyptian studies. While contributing to the development of the Musée du Louvre with artwork brought back from the expedition, he worked on establishing museums in rural areas of France.
This exhibition presents masterpieces that were collected by Napoleon himself, as well as the collections of the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum. Through paintings, sculpture, crafts, articles, furniture, and jewelry, this exhibition examines this historical figure and the time in which he lived.

Please check the museum's website for talk and workshop times.
