Hidetoshi Nagasawa is an internationally renowned sculptor based in Italy. His works fundamentally reexamine the relationship between form and image, time and space, the visible and invisible. At times straightforward and at times poetic, his works that reveal a sharp eye for observation and a rich sensuality allow viwers to enter a profound and primordial world that the artist calls "idea".
This exhibition will be held at the Museum of Modern Art, Saitama and Kawagoe City Art Museum simultaneously. Based on the installation plan drawn by the artist himself, 5 works including the 18m "Dove tende aurora" will be on view in Kawagoe while 15 of the artist's most representative works from the 1970s to the present will be on view in Saitama. The Toyama Memorial Museum too will host related event "Nagasawa in Kawajima" in a traditionally Japanese architectural space.
