Mark Borthwick
Mark Borthwick is a photographer who caused a revolution in the fashion photography world of the 1990s, attracting attention for his work with the magazines i-D, Purple and Italian Vogue. He also collaborated with Martin Margiela on books and videos and shot ad campaigns for Vanessa Bruno. Presently, Borthwick holds exhibitions of his work at galleries and museums and gives readings and performances, transcending the simple framework of "fashion photographer" and pursuing a wide variety of activities as an artist.

Borthwick's personal, intuitive photos incorporates elements of contemporary art, environment, interior design, architectural design and more. This exhibition at Lammfromm features polaroids that have not been previously exhibited. The gorgeous color of a world that vanishes in the space of an instant, and the air that floats in that space, are captured in Borthwick's polaroids. Also available for purchase at the venue are copies of his new photo book "Not in Fashion," published by Rizzoli this March, as well as CDs and other photo monographs previously unreleased in Japan.

"anna rose’ if handed down" is a collaborative series of events concurrently being held at Gallery Side 2 (Higashi Azabu), NADiff (Ebisu) and Book 246 (Minami Aoyama). On the schedule is a series of talk shows and performances, in addition to exhibitions of Borthwick's collages, drawings, new photographs and other work being exhibited for the first time in Japan.
