Steven Berkowitz
Steven Berkowitz is professor of photography and computer technology at Temple University in the U.S. He gives an intense summer course at the university's Roppongi campus every year, exhibiting his work and taking the opportunity to photograph the city at the same time. The title of his exhibition last year, "Ochiba Tenbyou," took as its subject the robustness of nature and its manifold enigmas, showing how the structure of all matter is a universe onto itself and evoking the inevitability of all life in the natural world. "What I want to highlight in my work is the simple fact of how we, the human race, can coexist with everything else in the world," says Berkowitz.
