Artists

Yasuto Sasada
Yasuto Sasada has attracted much attention as a precocious artist: he won the Prize for Excellence in the Yomiuri International Cartoon Contest Junior Division, and held his first solo exhibition while still a second-year high school student. His miniature paintings rendered in flamboyant colors evoke associations with mandalas and religious paintings, with their depictions of deities and versions of Utopia.

His large-scale painting of Pegasus in distinctive colors was presented at the Mitsubishi Corporation Art Gate Program held last December, and received a favorable response.

This exhibition introduces a new dimension of Sasada's work. It features not just his signature-style work, but also previously unexhibited monochrome miniature paintings.
