Shosuke Osawa + Sannosuke Osawa Ehibition

Nerima Art Museum
Finished

Artists

Shosuke Osawa, Sannosuke Osawa
Shosuke Osawa (1903-97) was a prolific painter and printmaker whose father Sannosuke Osawa (1867-1945) helped to lay the foundations for the architectural profession in Japan, in addition to helping to found the architecture department at the Tokyo University of the Arts. This exhibition traces the careers of both these figures through a selection of architectural drawings and watercolors by the elder Sannosuke, as well as watercolors and "paper films" by Shosuke produced together with his siblings.
