Artists

Mamoru Oshii
Mamoru Oshii is one of Japan's leading anime and live action film directors. His representative works, such as Avalon, Innocence and The Sky Crawlers experiment with innovative film production methods, winning high acclaim both at home and abroad for their blend of fantastic and realistic imagery. Oshii does not work alone, however - the "movie magicians" he collaborates with are responsible for the meticulous character acting and performances, enchanting backdrops, mechanical designs and music. On display at this exhibition are various objects and props made for his films, draft drawings and illustrations and more.
