"Art Deco in the Former Prince Asaka Residence" Exhibition

Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum
Finished
The Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum was first erected in 1933 as the residence of Prince Asaka Yasuhiko. The exterior is a beautiful example of architectural modernism and its stylish art deco interior includes work by René Lalique. Under the direction of the Prince and his wife, the very best French designers and imperial craftsmen worked to shape and create a mansion that is the pinnacle of Japanese and French artisanship.
