Takashi Kijima
Pioneering photographer Takashi Kijima passed away this February. This series collects his color and soft-focus images of Japan's landscapes and sentimental motifs, taking between 1990 and 2000. Printed onto Washi Japanese paper the series was acclaimed in New York but little known in Kijima's home country. Featuring both traditions like Kabuki, Bunraku and kimono, the series also takes in a wide range of regions, including Kyushu, Nara, Niigata and Shinjuku Gyoen.
