"Door to Modernity: Jikken Kobo" Exhibition

First comprehensive examination of the activities of the postwar Japanese avant-garde group Jikken Kobo (Experimental Workshop) through a showcase of some 400 works and archival materials. With the support of the art critic and poet Shuzo Takiguchi, Jikken Kobo developed a multidisciplinary practice inspired by dance, theater and film. Highlights include screenings of previously undiscovered films and other important works like Toshio Matsumoto's "Ginrin".
