Kazuki Watanabe’s photography has focused on pigs since 1998. Watanabe’s father was a butcher, so pig carcasses were a part of his daily experience from a young age, and the location of his university campus near a pig farm deepened his interest. Exploring the idea of fate, Watanabe has returned to the subject of pigs, the pork business, and personal and family ties multiple times over the years.
