Kunio Makino "The Essense of Realism"

Nerima Art Museum

Artists

Kunio Makino
Throughout the tumultuous post-war era of rapidly changing art trends, Kunio Makino single-mindedly pursued his own world of painting, applying his sophisticated technical skills to express the intense and radical images that rose from within. His life could be said to be a non-stop battle between the timeless issues of realism and the act of drawing. This exhibition will introduce 120 works of art that Makino produced from over thirty years as a painter.
