Hayao Miyazaki
“Hikouki Gumo” (literally, airplane cloud), which appeared on the debut album of singer Yuming (Yumi Matsutoya), is the official song of Hayao Miyazaki’s new film “The Wind Rises.” After his graduation from university, Miyazaki would listen to the song repeatedly until the tape wore out while working at his job in animation. In honor of the song’s 40th anniversary edition, Miyazaki presented Yuming with the 18 illustrations on display.
