Through “marbled ware”, pottery created by the technique of combining and molding different colored clays to create a pattern, Kosei Matsui(1927-2003) became known as a Living National Treasure, pushing the techniques of tradition to develop a highly unique style. This exhibit provides a retrospective of his work, marking 10 years since his death, with 90 example of his ceramics accompanied by tools, photographs and other documentary materials.
