Presenting the many faces of the “Nobuhiko Utsumi Painting Lab”, a group of creatives attempting to escape the collapse of the world system, and the governance of its various dependencies, in the pursuit of a vision of artistic expression for a new age. Here this group takes up a “return to human history”, feeling that art has become largely dissociated from such history, hoping to regain a form of expression which draws upon the early tools which first gave form to an art of the human spirit, and remind us of the depth of the science of painting in a time when we are increasingly to be found in a disembodied space of information, breathing life back into the flesh of painting.
