Haruo Mitsuta “Jizai”

Radium von Roentgenwerke AG
Finished

Artists

Haruo Mitsuta
Haruo Mitsuta creates “jizai okimono,” which are realistic, fully articulated figurines made with the metalworking technique practiced since the Edo period. At the same time, his inimitable creations—crabs, shrimp, insects, and other creatures with movable appendages, transcend the “jizai okimoto” category and can only be described as “objects of realism” that work as conceptual art.
