Chihiro Watanabe
Commissioned by what is now the city of Minamishimabara in Nagasaki Prefecture in 1996, Chihiro Watanabe reprinted the late-16th century copper engraving “Our Lady of Seville” and wrote an award-winning book about the process. She continued the multi-faceted process of spiritual artistic creation until her death in 2009. This exhibition focuses on her reprint of “Our Lady of Seville” and also introduces her other works.
