At the age of 9 years old Mari Katayama had both legs amputated and has depended on prosthetics ever since. Here work also heavily features the motifs of legs and prosthetic limbs. In her new work “You’re Mine” she arranges a patchwork of her own body and the plaster casts of other people’s legs in a series of portraits which blur the line between self and other.
