Prehistoric Mammals— Tracing Evolution and Extinction with Japanese Fossils

National Museum of Nature and Science
Finished
This exhibition introduces several now-extinct mammals that lived in Japan between 120 million and 10,000 years ago with around 170 important excavated fossil specimens that clearly explain the evolution and disappearance of these animals. Complete skeletons for a “family” of three Naumann elephants and world-famous paleoparadoxia fossils discovered in Japan are on display.
