“High Score” is a small compendium of Aquiles Hadjis’ latest forays into a medium of his own. He transforms the gallery space into something slightly reminiscent of a living organism and a solid sketch for an arcade center that has neither nostalgia nor future-chic sleekness in it. It is a space electrified by pieces that ask you how to deal with them, marrying noise music, engineering that invades the subjective realm, and Hadjis’ fascination with the notion of purposelessness as it exists inside Advaita philosophy or Dogen’s thinking.
