Artists

Koji Fukiya
Koji Fukiya(1898-1979) enchanted women with his illustrations and cover designs for various magazines with his elegant poetic depiction of charming modern female characters between the Taisho and Showa eras. Upon making his debut in 1920 at the age of 21 with “Shojo Gaho”, through the introduction of Yumeji Takehisa, Fukiya became the darling of the illustration world. After actively exhibiting in Paris he moved from strength to strength in the publishing business and began to produce his own picture books in the postwar era. This exhibition celebrates his wide oeuvre of work which has drawn so many ardent fans.
