In the 5th volume of a series of exhibitions placing a spotlight upon innovations in contemporary art this event features work based around the theme of music and instruments. The “Daxaphone” is an instrument created by the remarkable Hans Reichel, with numerous variations in its production and producing a sound rich in humor, accompanied by a unique way of being played upon. This exhibition introduces the Daxaphone to Japan for the first time, featuring not only the instrument itself but also a surround sound installation of 17 speakers sounding out the Daxaphone as played by Kazuhisa Uchihashi, also combined with workshops and other participatory events.
