Samuel Beckett “The Door is Imperceptibly Ajar”

Waseda University, Waseda Campus
Finished

Artists

Samuel Beckett
Samuel Beckett’s plays are staged all over the world during times of crisis. In Japan, too, they have been attracting increased attention in the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake. This exhibition offers an overview of other exhibitions focused on the playwright’s works, including a show held in Rome in 2013 and performances of Beckett’s plays, among them a staging at the Aichi Triennale. With photographs and film, this exhibition reexamines major works such as “Waiting for Godot” from the perspective of “symbiosis”.
