Jean-François Millet
Leading master of 19th century painting, Jean-François Millet(1814-75) depicted simple peasants set within their rural landscapes, exacting an almost religious solemnity. With 80 works gathered from collections from around the world this exhibition attempts to shed new light on this modern icon, while drawing on elements of his personal life.
