The photography of Koji Sekimoto involves the complex construction of scenes, including intricately hand made dolls, costumes and backgrounds, all produced by the artist himself and arranged as a photographic set, capturing the delicate expressions of his female characters. This exhibition presents 3 previously unrevealed works including a character tucked away in a secret base under the table of a candle-lit room, another character practicing to smile in the mirror and a fairy without wings, glimpsed in the forest in the early hours of dawn, each disturbing our sense of time and place and recalling some hidden memory. This exhibition is part of the associated program of the Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions.
