Zak Prekop
One of the most noted painters in the U.S., Zak Prekop has exhibited widely at shows including Art Basel Statement, MoMA PS1, and “Painter, Painter” at Walker Art Center. Although his paintings are composed with simple hues and flat strokes made by palette knife, depth derived from intricately tangled surface strata draws the viewer’s awareness into the interior space. According to Prekop, looking at a painting is the experience of perceiving the decisions and processes that have occurred within the artist. Prekop’s paintings lead the imagination to his contemplation of the world.
