This exhibit marks the debut of “Wild Style,” a film that explores the role Japan-produced radio cassette players known as boom boxes or “ghetto blasters” in America had in the hip hop movement. It offers a look back on 30 years of hip hop history with displays of vintage radio cassette players from Japan and models currently used in America. Some boomboxes are available for purchase.
